Well, I am still posting on my blog. I don't know, I like my new journal, but I think I like the way blogger is set up better, with posting, and editing and whatnot. It feels more user-friendly. Plus I am nostalgic for my blog. I would have separation anxiety. if I moved all the way to LJ, I think. So for now, I will live in both worlds. But, what to use my LJ for?

Currently, I am still stressed, and the dorm food is continuing on it's yucky streak. I have finished all my papers, which one would think would be make less stressed, but it hasn't really. Now I am stressed because I only have so little time before I go back to the US for the summer, so I'm all neurotic about not wasting the little time I have left here. Who know's what I'm gonna do when I have to go back in Dec.... *sigh*
There was no Hyper Class today, which feels sad. I need Hyper on my Fridays. On Sunday, we have joint class, and a picnic. I'm kinda tired of joint classes. Which I have no right to say, since I've only been to one, LOL, but it's been so long since a regular Hyper class....

There is an exhibit on Bishonen at a museum near Toudai. I am sooo going, with my ryugakusei shonenai trio.
Yay bishonen.
Speaking of which, apparently Hyde pulled Gackt into his arms and hugged him. I wanna seeeeeeee

This is getting babble-y, maybe I will write the rest on my LJ!

Actually, never mind. This is going to be bit of an MM rant, and I remembered that there are people who luurve Morning Musume on the groups that I joined.
So, to avoid possible flammage...

I really have a thing against MoMusu. It's not just because they're EVERYWHERE, and have changed members 5 billion times, and are EVERYWHERE, although that is a big part of it. I did used to like them, in the way way beginning, back when Aya Ishiguro was still in the group. I think it's because so many people seem to go from MAX to MM. Ok, well so many people being about two. But still. Hikaru, altho she is still into MAX as well, is completely morning musume'fied now, and all into them, and of course there's Yuna, my ex who actually gave as part of the reason she broke up with me that she 'felt like she was cheating on Minako', who then, as soon as MAX stopped being on stuff for a while abandoned them for Morning Musume, and forced her Rika/Kei femslash on me. There is a huge community of MM femslashers, as I have recently found out. I find this so disturbing, as they are...well....the musumes... But it annoys me because there used to be a great MAX femslash community way back when (where I met Yuna, and also where I met XAM-san, the amazing author of the best MAX fic of all time) until the members announced that they were online, and looking at fan sites, after which the webmaster Yuuko, pulled everything down. I am very nostalgic for my Love-love MAX community. It roxored.*sigh* Oh well, even without a community, my MAX continues to be very wonderfully slashly, although I still miss Minako. But Aki is doing a good job to try to live up to her predessesor, what with all her ramblings about how sexy Li-chan is.
Speaking of which, the new MAX single coming out 8/6, is apparently called 'LOVE SCREW' I cannot stop laughing. Ah Engrish.... Love Screw....!? O.o

Gender paper all done!! yay! Now only my 10 pager, which I think will be quite excruciating, as...how can you write a 10 page paper on 1 book? Especially when you're not really sure what you're doing? *sigh*

Ok, I am now going to buckle down and start writing my Gender paper. It only has to be 800 characters. I think I can BS 800 characters.
Lately I have been so stressed out. All the papers, and exams looming up, etc. I think a big part of my stress is from having to go home for the summer. I know it's only a month, but it scares me. I really don't want to go back. But on the other hand, I really, really want to see all my friends, and my family. Speaking of which, all ye residents of VA, tell me when and where you guys are, because I'm planning to fly down VA to visit at some point in August while I'm in Les Etats Unis. (my French has died a pitiful, sputtering choking death...)

Anyway, I'm gonna go write my paper. Or at least make a valiant attempt.

Oh, cute webcomic:

Woo hoo!! I finished my first paper!!!!! Now I only have
1) My insanely evil and long 10 page paper on the book 'Amae no Kozou', of which I have 3 pages written. (due mon)
2) My 800 character min. paper for Gender, which I basically have an idea for. (also due mon)

and not to forget
3) My Shikisai exam next week, for which I still have to take photos of 'good color use' and 'bad color use', which involves finding such buildings. Also I hope I can use Kinoko's text book, since it's open book and I don't have one of my own, and I will fail without.
4) My kanji test on the 22nd, which consists of all the chapters we've done this semester (4 - 10). I do not remember how to write a single kanji from the text book. I'm screwed. ^^;;

My mewlib poem

my bad poem:
ecstasy tree

I feel so ecstasy and bordom sometimes,
sometimes i want to puke my nostrils and die,
the tree is so florid and sad,
the skies sound like vampire .

I feel so ecstasy and bordom ,
nobody understands my lascivious , ghetto pain ,
I want to slink and smash in the rain
the tree reminds me of feeling bordom , the skies mock my randiness ,

sometimes i want to puke my nostrils and die,
underneath the florid , lucrative sky

(Post from Friday)
Now that I'm back at my host family's, having looked at all my auction stuff, etc, it's hard to believe that this is the same day that I saw Em. It feels like so long ago, or like it was a dream. But I guess that's good, because maybe this will keep me from getting lonely after. I think it also shows how much Japan is really my life right now. How it's my home. For example, I made some mention of being glad that I had my new Anna-san song to listen to when I got home, so I wouldn't be lonely, and Em thought I was talking about when I went home to the US for the summer, even though I had meant home to my host family's. I was kind of suprised by the conclusion she had come to, and told her, 'No, 'home' is my host family. America is America.' And I think that's really true. And I think it's one of the reasons why it didn't feel strange at all to have San, or Em here with me, because this is where I live now, and also one of the reasons why I wasn't so lonely when they left. Or rather, not any more than I had been before I'd seen them. Because I'm used to not having them here.
But, as dream-like as it seems now, I'm really glad that I got to see Em, even if it was only for a couple of hours. And, although I'm still sad we didn't get to go to Hyper together, that meant that we got to do a couple of things I've been wanting to do with her for a long time; Karaoke, and 109 in Shibuya. It was so much fun, and we got to sing 'Sophisticated Girl', which had always been 'our song', and which I've wanted to sing with her since I realized they had it at Karaoke in Japan, so many years ago. Karaoke was great because we could just sing whatever we want (and I made sure we went to the place that literally has every single Amuro song - we sang Mr. USA hee hee), and not worry about our parents nagging us to hurry up and pick songs because it costs so much money. LOL I sang my fav. song from Issa's solo album, and she said that it was a really pretty song. That made me happy, because she had never heard the real version, and yet my version was good enough to make her like the song. We went out for Okonomiyaki, and Japanese desserts, and talked and talked.
It was amazing, how completely normal it felt to be with her, although it was also what I'd been expecting. For one thing, we both agreed that it definately didn't feel like we hadn't seen eachother in half a year. But on the other hand, it feels normal to be with Em anywhere, because it's not the place that matters, it's her. To some extent, the place fades, and it's only being with her. We were just the same as we always are.
In some ways, it wasn't that hard to say goodbye (although it was) because our life is so much a cycle of meeting and goodbyes, and there's never enough time, so I'm used to it.
But it was really so good to see her. It really was.
I'm not sure if the vague lonliness I'm feeling now is from seeing Em today, all the MAX stuff, or the chorus of Ikiteru tochuu running through my head....Dance ga ai no akashi nara asa made odoritsudukeyou...kanjiru mama, yurashinagara...aa, futari.... Kiss ga ai no katachi nara, sono mamam choukoku ni narou....

A note on my MAX stuff. From Yahoo Japan auction I won every single tour pamphlet but the one from their 97 tour (I have the 99, 00 and 01 ones already, I'm giving these to Oniichan, who split the price with me), various tour goods, and every single fan club magazine, except the first three. I felt so much history from those, looking through them all, especially the one that was released after Minako left, but before Aki joined, which had only Reina, Nana and Lina in it. It was a very strange feeling to read that one. And it was all so natsukashii, each 'new' single and album, all the tour reviews, all the photos... It really made me re-appreciate just how much history MAX had, and how long they've been going on, and how close they all are, and how they really were Lina, Mina, Reina, Nana. I read Minako's letter announcing her pregnancy and maternity leave to Okaasan, and I got really teary eyed.
I hope New MAX continues for a long time....

I watched the 2003 MTV movie awards this weekend, and it was a good dose of American fun. It was very well done, I cracked up at a lot of it. (The part with the Justin and Sean action figures had me laughing hysterically for a good ten minutes: Justin's action figure does cool fighting moves. Sean: I wonder what mine does? Sean-action-figure: I smell like poo poo and pee pee.... ) I also got a big kick out of the subtitles, which translated Queen Latifa's "oh damn!' when she got 'caught' kissing Adrian Brody, as 'ara!' LOL I was also amused by Elijah Wood's conversation with the MTV interviewer dude... Dude: So, you think [Tatu] are gonna make out? Elijah: God, I hope so! And I hope that MTV doesn't cut it like some of the other networks! Make us proud! (I was quite disappointed, as I'm sure Elijah was too, that they didn't make out. :P) Eminem gave a very heartfelt thank you speech (for his first award) which definately reaised my opinion of him as a person. I also (no one kill me, I think this is a side effect of no America) quite like Justin Timberlake. He just seemed really normal to me. Alison Hannigan looked really pretty, it was great to see her again. I was suprised at 1) how much sex there is (like that 'ass' Charlie's angels skit, and Pink's bondage like outfit) and also 2) How much swearing there was. There was soooo much swearing!! Even Golem!
Also, does anyone else think that R.Kelly's 'snake' music video is just un PC is as many ways as possible?

(Post from Sunday.)
Today I saw Namie live for the second time. I went to the 7/14 O.A Hey Hey Hey recording of 'Put 'em up'. This time I went with Hoshimi from the dorm, who is also a Namie fan. Once again, it was a lot of waiting. Waiting outside, waiting in the green room, waiting in the hallway. On the way to the bathroom, we passed a dressing room with two women in bright blue plush sweatsuits. After a moment I realized that they must be Namie's back up dancers. They were really cool looking.
But once we got to the studio stage, it was all worth it. The stage was very neat this time, all silver, and rather strange, it looked like a space ship or something. The lights were purple which was cool. This time, I had made sure to start calling even before the time began, so I was able to get a really good number for us, 21. (out of 180). And when we all lined up in the audiance space....I was in the front row!!!!! The very front row, second from the end on the left, right across from the stairs that led up onto the stage. The AD came out and taught us how to hold our hands up and clap, and told us to keep them up high the whole time. A group of girls kept screaming, which made everyone scream and look around wildly, but it was a false alarm. The AD laughed and said 'Not yet guys.' Then, finally he announced the back dancers. Out came two women (the ones I had seen earlier) and three guys. Everyone clapped wildly. The AD announced 'And...Amuro Namie-san!!' We all went wild, screaming and craning for a glimpse of her. I could see her really well, but then when she got onto the stage, she was hidden from my view by one of the back up dancers. But once the song started, and she moved up in front, I could see her perfectly. No one's arms in front of me this time. There was nothing blocking my view, and I was really really close. I could see every detail, from her blue eyeshadow, to her rhinestone hoop earrings, to her belly button ring, and the glitter on her arms. She looked so cool! She was wearing a blue velour sweat outfit. She had blue velour sweat pants, the waist-band up which was made of black pleather-looking stuff, and a blue tube top, which was a bit baggy in the waist, until it gathered into more of the pleather stuff at the hem. Her hair, which was a lot browner than I had expected, and not black, was pulled back into two high ponytails, with a bit of her bangs loose on the side. She looked gorgeous. She is gorgeous. Most of all she is tiny! Her figure is tiny, small breasts, tiny waist, no hips....just really graceful. Her arms are tiny, her neck is tiny, and of course, her face is tiny. Her face was a lot more thin and narrow than it looks on TV and whatnot, and her nose is very small and fine. She is just a very petite woman. She's so beautiful. And her performance was amazing. It was just so cool! She did all of the dancing with the male dancers, where she pushed them away and whatnot, and it was just awesome! The graceful way she thrust them away was so cute! At one part the male dancer pretended to punch her, and she ducked, and then came up and did this really cool round-house type kick. And her voice sounded really good too.
We all screamed the whole time. After she went out of the room, followed by all our screaming and waving. Hoshimi and I talked more to these girls behind us whom we'd been talking to before it started, we all agreed that she was so amazingly cool, and that if she pushed us away like that we'd all die of happiness. We wondered if they would do another take, but it seemed really unlikely. Just as we had given up, the AD came out, and annoucned that they would do one more take. So again, out came the back up dancers, and out came Namie. The second time was just as amazing as the first, better I guess, because they didn't do another take after it. I noticed that there was a noticably pattern in all of our screaming. When Namie danced with the male dancers, we all screamed. When their was a pause between verses, etc and she wasn't singing, we screamed. But the moments that we all screamed the most....when she smiled at us. Her smile is so adorable.
After the second take was over, the DA went up on stage to talk to her. She smiled at him and nodded. Then the back dancers left. Then Namie bowed a little and said 'Arigatou gozamashita!' and left, waving and smiling at us. It was just a wonderful experience. To be that close, to see her so perfectly. Namie is amazing. She is just amazing. She really has that 'aura'about her.

Hoshimi and I made a promise to learn the dance together.

(Mutai PC still on the fritz. Post from Sat.) Today I mixed up my train time, so I got to class aboout 20 minutes late. I got there during a break. Everyone was out in the outer portion of the lesson room, including Anna-san, who was putting water on her face. Everyone seemed suprised to see me, and told me that the lesson had become a joint Hyper lesson. I explained about my train. Tomoko-san was talking to Anna-san about how she should sell AtsuYuu (ZinRye?) as a cross dressing group. Anna-san said that Atsushi is really pretty cross dressed. Apparently she has pictures, because she said she's bring them. (Now this, I want to know the back story on LOL) Anna-san had her hair in a ponytail today, which means it's grown quite a bit. The ponytail is very cute and tiny and stubby though. Her bangs were brushed to the side a bit, and she looked like she did when I first joined the class. Tomoko-san said it made her look younger. I'm not sure, I just know she looked beautiful. (like always LOL) The was wearing a black sleeveless shirt and black knee legnth pants. Yuuta looks wonderful! He had also had his hair in a ponytail, and around his head he had tied a white towel, like a head band, with a huge knot (bow?) in the front. It was fabulous. I laughed so hard when i saw him (inside my head of course, not outloud). Actually, everyone's hair had grown alot. Atsushi's is longer enough so he had real bangs now. I guess it just shows how long I've been in Hyper. Namio gave me a high five and said 'Hello'. I think it was the first time I've ever had any physical contact with Namio. Maybe he's no longer intimidated by my gaijin-nish after teaching me to dance (and seeing me fail miserably LOL)
I saw Marilyn and Kaori for the first time in a long time, which was nice, especially because we got to chat a little, and they both came up to say hi to me. They said that I lost weight. I don't think that I have (don't see how i could have, I'm not doing any exercise LOL).
This was my first joint class with Pop. There were so many people! And so many little kids, since it was the regular Pop class, not Advanced. They were all so adorable! We did the dance in front of everything exercise. We all sat down, and Anna-san had the Pop kids dance in groups of boys and girls. It was cute, because for example, Misa-chan (a little Pop girl, I think she must be around 5?) did a half handstand thing on one leg for several minutes, after their song had ended, and Anna-san had to get her to go back and sit down, which she did alternating between gentle requests, explaining that other people needed to dance now, and that she would get to dance more later, and applauding her trick again when she wouldn't listen. LOL There was also a little boy who wanted to dance by himself, but Anna-san told him that not everyone would be able to dance by themselves, so was it ok if other people danced with him? Finally he held up 3 fingers. Anna-san smiled, and held up 5. He held up five, and she said 'We've got an okay for five!' It was really cute. It was nice to watch her with the Pop kids, because she's so sweet and gentle with them, and tries to get them to understand why, when she has to tell them not to do stuff, or whatnot. Hyper danced as one big group. (There actually weren't so many of us though, maybe 10 people). It was fun. After we were done,t his little Pop kid came up and held my hands for a moment. It was so cute. Then ZinRye danced. It was funny, because Anna-san said 'Atsushi, you guys ready to dance?' and Atsushi had been spacing out and was like 'Hai?' (Huh?) And Namio made a joke I didn't hear that was apparently really funny. Namio himself was great! He was sooo funny! And Atsushi smiled so brightly and happily, you could tell he was dancing for the kids. AtusYuu didn't do any slashly dancing together, I think maybe because they didn't want the kids to try to imitate them and hurt themselves? I don't know. But I felt this great outpouring of love for the Boyz, for some reason.
Then we all danced all together. The little Pop kid (I think it was a girl, she had lace socks on. LOL) came and held my hands and jumped around with me and dragged me around the room and generally monopolized me. LOL Then another little Pop kid came, and held my hand and dragged me around. At one point they were both dragging me in opposite directions. Then the one Pop kid took me over and gave my hands to the other pop kid. They were so adorable. So I danced (read: jumped around holding hands) with them for quite a bit (they also kept coming back to me), and then I also danced a bit with some of the older Pop Boys. It was a lot of fun.
When we were all dancing to Lady Marmalade, I watched Anna-san dancing with some of the pop kids for a bit. She shook her butt, and ran her hand down her body as she did a sideways body roll, it was very awesome.
At the end, she bowed, and said 'Meiwaku o okakeshimashita!' (Sorry for the inconvience I caused today!) As far as I can tell, today was supposed to be just a Hyper class, but somehow it turned out to be a joint class. I think this was a schedule mess up, because they didn't take my ticket for today.
We all said Otsukare sama, but then Anna-san's okaasan came over, saying 'Anna, Anna...' (Once again i am in awe of the no -san) and Anna-san said 'Wasureteshimaimashita!' ) (I forgot!) and announced that we would have a picnic in the park next week after joint class on Sun
